In the city

Hello and welcome to a new post! Today, we will learn some new vocabulary about things we can find in cities. For that, I have selected several pictures of cities that I am sure you will recognise.

The station (La estación)

The taxi (El taxi)

The telephone booth (La cabina telefónica)

/ˈtɛləfoʊnbuːð/

The underground/tube  (El metro)

The street (La calle)

The bus (El autobús)

The opera (La ópera)

The museum (El museo)

The Eiffel Tower  (La torre Eiffel)
  /ˌaɪfəlˈtaʊəʳ/

The traffic light (El semáforo)
                                                      /ˈtræfɪklaɪt/

The city lights (Las luces de la ciudad)

                                                            /ˈsɪtilaɪts/

If you click in the transcriptions of the words you can hear how they are pronounced.

EXERCISE:

Now try to match the pictures with the words:

The city lights - the museum - the taxi - the bus - the opera - the station - the Eiffel Tower - the traffic light - the underground/tube - the street - the telephone booth

I hope you enjoyed the post and you learned something new. I will see you again in the next one!
